About

Marsha was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her maternal great-grandparents helped establish the Hebrew Theological College in Skokie, Illinois and her paternal great-grandparents helped build Congregation Ahavas Israel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Marsha earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Calvin College and an M.A. in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, including studies at the Hebrew University. She also attended the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, without s'micha.

Marsha's formal art studies include non-degreed work at the New York Art Student's League (life drawing), Bezalel Academy of Art (painting, John Byle), the Parsons School of Design (illustration), and Georgies in Portland, Oregon (ceramics). 

In 1994, Marsha registered her first Art As Responsa business license in Sausalito, California. 

Traditionally, responsa are rabbinic answers to religious questions.

Marsha owns all associated artwork, designs, copyrights, trademarks, URLS, and published materials.
