I earned a BA in Philosophy from Calvin College and an MA in Interdisciplinary Jewish Studies from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America. My JTS degree includes graduate work at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

My formal art studies include non-degreed work at the New York Art Student's League (life drawing), Bezalel Academy of Art (painting, John Byle), the Parsons School of Design (illustration) and Georgies in Portland (ceramics).

I obtained my first Art As Responsa business license in Sausalito, California in 1994. I own all associated artwork, designs, copyrights, trademarks, URLS and published materials.
